Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch artist who lived from 1853 to 1890. His early works, from the time when he lived in The Netherlands, were mostly still lifes and peasant labourers, painted in somber and dark colors. After he moved to France, his paintings became bright and colorful. Famous are his painting of sunflowers and wheat fields.
